Watches -> Harry Potter -> Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Kids' Diamond Cut Crystal Watch #HC0416

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Kids' Diamond Cut Crystal Watch #HC0416 Description

Only 1000 pieces were produced and each watch is numbered. The large round watch (nearly 1 3/4 inches wide including the crown) showcases a dramatic dial resembling a compass, with antique-looking breguet-style hands, a goldtone TriWizard cup at the twelve o'clock hour, and triangular markers elsewhere. Look closely and you'll notice the compass-style triangles are actually cut-outs, and beneath them, an ornately-patterned inner dial rotates to count the seconds. The dial is framed by an antiqued goldtone bezel with etched Roman numerals at the quarter hours. This watch features Japan quartz movement and presents on a textured black leather strap with a buckle closure. Unique wooden puzzle box, exclusively manufactured under license from Walt Disney Studios

Customer Comments on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Kids' Diamond Cut Crystal Watch #HC0416

Don't buy it for the serial number or rarity

This is supposed to be a limited edition set, with a serial number engraved on the back of the watch. The watch I was sent has a /1000 on the back, but they didn't engrave a number in front of the slash. So either they overproduced the set, or they slipped in engraving. I'd like to think I'm lucky and got the only unnumbered watch, but the slightly cheap quality of the box's top and the fact that they just enclosed a generic watch instruction sheet that doesn't match the timepiece at all makes me think they were probably careless with a lot of them. Still, it's a neat little watch, with a nice little reveal on the face, and the pillow insert and box are fun, and a bonus at this price range. Since it's for my own collection, not a gift, I'm not returning or replacing it, choosing to believe it has a quirky value of its own.

I give this watch

not what i was looking for

This was a gift for my boyfriend first of all. It comes in a really cool wooden box which i thought was sure only a clue to how awesome the watch had to be.
He opened it up and found that the stitching on the watch was low quality and easily breakable. the watch face itself was cheap looking and awkwardly sized. I was not pleased whatsoever with this purchase but i could see if someone might be.. just keep in mind the face is huge and the band is low quality

Not quite stunning

I'm not an "everything-Harry Potter-watch" collector, but from what I have been learning on the subject, Harry Potter watches, besides the ones marketed for children, come in three categories that may interest collectors: limited edition, special edition and collectible. The limited edition watches are usually the high-end ones, which cost more since they usually manufacture only 1,000 to 2,000 of each model and you're paying for the privilege of owning one of these numbered timepieces. It's not mentioned in the product description but, yes, The Final Stand Watch is a limited edition of 1,000 watches. However, I was a bit disappointed with it as I expected more from a limited edition watch.
This oversized wristwatch by SII Marketing International is pretty but not quite on a par with previous limited edition models such as the ones made by Fossil for the first two Harry Potter movies. The cutout face of the watch looks too cardboard-like, and I think they could've picked a much better looking leather strap. I felt tempted to cut the strap off but then that would've ruined the value of the watch so I let it be. I think this model would have looked better as a pocket watch or a hanging watch. Nevertheless, it still gets 3 stars from me. Actually, if Amazon had 1/2 star in its rating system, I would give this watch 3 1/2 stars.
If you like this watch or collect HP watches, get it while Amazon.com has it in stock. I don't think you'll get a better price at online auctions. The last time I checked, the starting bid price was usually around $80 to $100.

P.S.: "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" has inspired a number of watches to delight collectors. Yet, I feel that what it is still missing is a watch inspired by the ball. Now if they would make one watch that Hermione would be proud to wear to the Yule Ball (sigh). One with the dazzle of Swarovski crystal; one that's elegant, classy...and no purple strap, please.
